<DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>The Volusia Forever Priority Projects layer represents properties recommended by the Volusia Forever Advisory Committee for potential acquisition but not yet approved for purchase by the County Council. This dataset serves as a planning and evaluation tool to identify and rank conservation lands that support the long-term goals of the Volusia Forever Program under Volusia County Government.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>Properties are categorized into two priority groups based on established Site Ranking Criteria, project evaluation, and funding opportunities:</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>Group A:</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>Properties that significantly advance program goals and are recommended for acquisition. These sites are typically eligible for matching funds and may include lands within or adjacent to existing Florida Forever project boundaries. Group A properties are forwarded to County Council for authorization to proceed with acquisition.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>Group B:</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>Properties considered important for conservation but not ranked as the highest priority due to factors such as lower site scores, project viability, or limited funding opportunities.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>The County Council retains authority to adjust rankings between groups, pursue matching funds from external sources, and authorize acquisitions. Properties may be added, retained, advanced, or removed from the ranking groups based on updated information, property owner requests, or after multiple ranking cycles.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>This layer supports strategic conservation planning, prioritization of acquisition efforts, and coordination with funding partners.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
